Best AI voice agents and AI receptionists in 2026, compared

Updated September 2026

Eight vendors buyers ask about, compared on what decides the purchase: channels, languages, pricing model and how you start. We build one of them, and we still wrote this to be accurate.

How did we compare them?

On the four columns that decide most of these purchases: whether one agent covers calls and tickets, the languages it speaks, how pricing works, and how you get started. Vendor cells come from their public pricing and product pages, checked 2026-09-03; where a vendor does not publish a fact, the cell says so. CallBolt's row uses our own production numbers.

Where is each vendor strong?

Fin is Intercom's AI agent: it resolves tickets and chat conversations at $0.99 per outcome, and it is the obvious shortlist for support teams already living in Intercom. Voice is a separate, sales-only plan.

Retell and Vapi are developer platforms: big template and documentation libraries, your own stack choices, and published per-minute pricing ($0.07 to $0.31 with a $10 free credit at Retell; $0.05 per minute plus $10 per concurrent line at Vapi). They fit teams with engineers who want to build a custom agent.

Bland publishes per-minute pricing ($0.11 to $0.14 per minute, platform fee up to $499 per month) and starts self-serve, with an enterprise track for volume. Synthflow is sales-led: their billing docs say the package is scoped with their team by expected volume, telephony, integrations and support needs.

Rosie is an AI receptionist for small businesses and advertises a from-$49 price on its home page. Smith.ai sells AI-first or human-first receptionist plans from $300 per month for 30 calls, with a Spanish line as an add-on, for businesses that want people on every call.

Where does CallBolt fit?

Sky is the pick when the phone channel and the ticket queue are the same workload: one agent answers on the first ring, works the tickets, and runs outbound campaigns, inside your policies, with every action on one audit trail. Multilingual is built in, not bolted on.

One honest limitation: if you want to assemble your own agent stack from parts, a developer platform will get you there faster than we will. Sky is for businesses that want the calls and tickets handled, not a toolkit.

The one-agent flow, step by step, is on the AI customer support agent page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI voice agent in 2026?

It depends on the job. For calls, tickets and outbound campaigns run from one agent with no per-seat fees, CallBolt's Sky is the fit we built for. Developers building custom stacks lean toward Retell or Vapi; teams on Intercom already have Fin; a single-location business that just wants its phone answered will find Rosie or Smith.ai worth a look.

Are these comparisons affiliated with the vendors?

No. We build CallBolt, the vendors are named honestly, and there are no affiliate deals and no outbound links to their sites. Where a competitor is the better fit, this page says so.

How do the pricing models differ?

Per minute at Retell ($0.07 to $0.31), Vapi ($0.05 plus $10 per concurrent line per month) and Bland ($0.11 to $0.14, platform fee up to $499 per month); per outcome at Fin ($0.99); per-call bundles at Smith.ai (from $300 per month for 30 calls); flat monthly at Rosie (from $49); sales-led at Synthflow (the package is scoped with their team). CallBolt's plan is scoped to the use case, with no per-seat fees, quoted by the team within one business day.

Which AI voice agent handles both calls and support tickets?

CallBolt's Sky is the only one here that runs calls, tickets and outbound campaigns from one agent and one policy set. Fin covers chat and tickets with voice on a separate custom plan; Smith.ai staffs calls with humans; the rest are voice-first.

How often is this comparison updated?

The page carries its Updated line and is revisited as vendors change products or pricing and as CallBolt's production numbers move.
